How to type Mathematics using Microsoft Word            by uaemath

To start typing Mathematics formulas using ms-word,Follow the following steps:

-Open ms-word and Click on Insert then on Object as shown below:

-The Object menu will appear,choose "Microsoft Equation 3.0" and then click on "OK" as shown below:

-If the "Microsoft Equation 3.0" is not listed in the object type list,this means you have to install it as it is not installed with office if you didn't choose to install Complete office when you first time had office installed.

To install Microsoft Equation:

-Insert your office CD

-From Setup options,choose "Add/Remove"

-Click on "Office Tools"

-Click on "Run All from My Computer" then click "OK"

-Back to ms-equation :the equation program will appear as shown below:

-To type a Fraction for example,Click on the second button(to the left) of the second raw as shown below:

-The box will be divided into two : numerator and denominator ,put your mouse in the numerator box and type whatever you need.Put you mouse in the denominator box and type what you need.To start typing exponents follow the instructions as shown below:

-I have typed x in the denominator ,when you choose the exponent button a box will appear above it to the right as shown below:

-Type whatever you need as shown below:

-When you are done,Click on the blank area outside the formula box as shown below:

-If you need to modify your formula, just double click on the formula box and equation will open again letting you do necessary modifications to your formula.
